Most Health Plans are maintaining and supporting Provider Portals that were developed in-house over 20 years ago. While at the time they added significant value in support of claims submission and eligibility verification, as well as Provider communications, most Portals have not been able to keep pace with new transactions, especially in support of bi-directional clinical data exchange.

EDIP-HC has a multi-stage project approach that addresses the Plan’s current requirements to maintain and support their existing Provider Portal while examining the future requirements and data needs for bi-directional clinical data exchange. This approach looks at the existing IT infrastructure and business requirements in support of administrative data, and future strategies for bi-directional clinical data exchange and how the clinical data will be used by existing and new business areas.
